Our Story: First Aid Plus was founded by Eric Roy, driven by his passion for first aid education since the age of 16. Eric's journey began with his first Canadian Red Cross Training Course, delivered by an exceptionally knowledgeable instructor. This experience inspired him to establish First Aid Plus in 1999. Starting in Bolton, Ontario, Eric's hard work, dedication, and strong desire to help others led to a series of accomplishments.

Eric completed the Canadian Red Cross First Aid Course with the local volunteer ambulance service and joined the Canadian Armed Forces as an Armored Crewman Driver. After moving to Ottawa to attend the Algonquin College Paramedic Program, he began sharing his valuable knowledge with others during his off time. Eric became a St. John Ambulance instructor, eventually becoming an Instructor Trainer and having taught over 10,000 courses.

In addition to his extensive teaching experience, Eric's expertise is complemented by continued volunteer work with various organizations and deployments to assist during national emergencies, such as the BC Wildfires and Gatineau Floods. Today, Eric is a respected Healthcare Administrator who continues to share his passion as a trainer for renowned organizations including the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada, Canadian Red Cross, St. John Ambulance, Stop the Bleed, ITLS, and the ACT Foundation. At First Aid Plus, we recognize the vital role of first aid education in personal safety, helping others in need, and raising awareness to reduce the rate of injuries.

The Role: We are currently seeking a skilled Marketing Specialist to join our team at First Aid Plus. As a Marketing Specialist, you will play a crucial role in expanding our business and promoting our First Aid Training Courses. With a focus on the health industry, your expertise will contribute to raising awareness and attracting individuals who seek to enhance their first aid knowledge. This is an opportunity to apply your academic and work experience in the health industry to drive the growth and success of First Aid Plus.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement effective marketing strategies to promote First Aid Training Courses
• Conduct market research to identify target audiences and tailor marketing initiatives accordingly
• Create compelling content, including articles, blog posts, social media posts, and website updates, to engage and educate potential customers
• Manage digital marketing campaigns, including SEO, SEM, social media advertising, and email marketing
• Monitor and analyze marketing performance metrics, making data-driven recommendations for optimization
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure consistent branding and messaging across all marketing channels
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in marketing and the health industry

 

Qualifications:

• Academic experience in health industry would be considered as an asset
• Previous work experience in health industry
• Solid understanding of marketing principles, strategies, and best practices
• Proficient in digital marketing techniques, including SEO, SEM, social media advertising, and email marketing
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Creativity and ability to think outside the box to drive innovative marketing initiatives

Wage: 34.36 per hour
