Job Title: Short Order Cook

Location: Prince Rupert, BC

Wage: $17.40-18.00/Hr for 30-40 hours/week

Vacancies: 01

Job Type: Permanent, Full-time

Anticipated start date: ASAP

 

Job Brief:

6th Avenue Food Market and Smoke Shop LTD is looking for Short Order Cook, who can prepare, heat and finish cooking simple food items and responsible for executing Take-out and delivery orders in a prompt, efficient way and performing a variety of other tasks within the restaurant.

 

Job Duties:

Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods

Plan menus, determine size of food portions, estimate food requirements and costs, and monitor and order supplies

Inspect kitchens and food service areas

Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food

Order supplies and equipment

Supervise kitchen staff and helpers

Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment

Clean kitchen and work areas

Manage kitchen operations

 

Requirements:

Language: Basic English is a requirement

Experience: Proven experience in food preparation

Education: Completion of Secondary School

 

Core skills:

Provide excellent customer service

Able to stand and walk for long periods of time

Must be able to work a flexible schedule including opening, closing, weekends and holidays

Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment

Must be able to work with minimal supervision and have a strong initiative

Good interpersonal skills to deal efficiently with co-workers and the customers
