SummaryThe Vern’s Pizza shift supervisor position requires the supervision of team members on shift to ensure the standards of all operations are maintained as outlined by the Manager. The role is operational in nature and has a strong emphasis on customer service and positive attitude. The role of the supervisor is to ensure our product is offered to our customers in an exceptional and positive manner at all times.  Operations Management·       Works alongside other staff members and ensures optimal product satisfaction·       Complies with and enforces all Vern’s Pizza operating standards·       Updates and keeps all staff members informed on duties for each shift·       Supervises team members in a positive way to ensure all standards and procedures are upheld·       Ensures optimal team member coverage at all times and works various positions during busy periods to maintain operational efficiency and integrity·       Escalates to management any issues and or problems (customer and employee related)·       Ensures all staff members are following restaurant policies (meal and break policies, cell phones, food safety, cash policies) Personnel Management·       Assists the Manager in recruitment and retention strategies·       Leads by example and demonstrates the importance of customer service and employee equality·       Treats all customers with respect and demonstrates our value offering to customers·       Reacts in a positive way to negative issues arising during the shift·       Provides ongoing and specific direction to all team members·       Supports and trains new staff members to ensure operational integrity·       Reports to Manager on team members performance·       Encourages a positive and supportive work environment for all staff members Health & Safety·       Works in compliance with the occupational health and safety legislation·       Enforces and abides by all safe work practices and procedures·       Ensures health and safety policies are followed during the shift ·       Informs the Manager of all injuries/illness, accidents, unsafe conditions, security incidents and any concerns that may arise Qualification·       At least one year of supervisory or management experience in accommodation or hospitality industryStrong leadership and positive attitudeSuccess with communication and strong customer serviceAbility to work independently as well as a team playerExperience with long shifts
