Compensation & Schedule
● Wage: $36.60 per hour.
● Type: Full-time, permanent (30 to 40 hours/week).
● Overtime: Paid as per BC Employment Standards.
● Vacation: 4% of gross earnings (equivalent to 2 weeks of paid vacation time) per year.

Core Instructional & Support Duties
● Instructional Delivery: Execute high-quality Taekwondo instruction to students from beginner to advanced levels, adhering strictly to lesson plans and curriculum established by the Head Coaches.
● Head Coach Support: Assist Head Coaches in running regular classes, special programs, and mandatory belt testing days.
● Specialized Training: Lead specialized technical drills, partner activities, and supervised sparring sessions under the direct oversight of the Head Coach.
● Technical Correction: Provide clear technical corrections and encouragement to students in a safe and respectful training environment.
Program & Student Development
Curriculum Implementation: Focus on refining technical, tactical, and physical skills for recreational and competitive students as designed by the Head Coaches.
● High-Performance Input: Provide specialized technical input to Head Coaches regarding competition preparation and high-performance techniques.
● Candidate Identification: Identify potential candidates for the Leadership Program and report recommendations to the Head Coach for review.
● Grading Assistance: Provide detailed feedback on student performance to assist the Head Coach in making grading and progression decisions.
Operational Support & Mentorship
● Technical Resource: Serve as a technical resource to support the Head Coach’s goals for class quality and student retention.
● Operational Flexibility: Cover classes and instructional duties as assigned by the Head Coach during peak training times or absences.
● Mentorship: Assist with the mentorship of volunteers and lower-level assistant coaches under the direction of the Head Coach.
● Facility Support: Perform operational tasks such as attendance tracking, equipment setup, and facility cleanliness as directed.
● Mandatory Events: Prioritize and attend designated Academy events, tournaments, and staff meetings as instructed by the Academy Director.
Skills and Qualifications Required
● Education: Secondary school/ High School education is required
● Certification: Must hold a Kukkiwon (World Taekwondo Headquarters) Black Belt & Card Number.
Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in both coaching and competing in Taekwondo.
Specialization: Demonstrated expertise in either Kyorugi (sparring) or Poomsae (patterns).
Soft Skills: Ability to provide clear technical corrections in a respectful and safe manner.
Language: Proficiency in English is required.
