Sayers Seed Cleaning Limited, located at NE2-46-19-W-3, Delmas, S0M 0P0, Saskatchewan, has a need for 1 (one) full- time Chief Grain Miller to manage our seeding facilities.
Supervisor Miller Duties:
· Responsible for the set-up milling machines and ensure to adjust mills before, during and after process
· Create grain quality reports and maintain production batch reports
· Monitor milling process at the seed lots and keep proper records
· Keep inventory current and report to employer. Request new consumables when inventory are low
· Quality Control:
o check products to ensure conformance to company standards
o Adjust moisture levels of grain and final product
· Responsible for training other employees during high season
· Supervising other employees during high season in terms day to day work and adhering to safety and health policies of the company
· Train staff in job duties, safety procedures and company procedures
· Ensure seed quality specifications are met
· Operate seeding and grinding machines
· Ensure proper operation of multi-function process control machinery through control panels, computer terminals or other control systems
Miller Duties
· Responsible for shop cleaning at the end of each shift
· Operate grain milling equipment from grain receiving to production and packaging
· Measure and dump seeds into grinding machines
· Remove filled containers from conveyors and manually pack goods into bags, boxes or other containers
· Clear machine blockages as required
Experience Requirements:
· Several years’ work experience with milling and grain cleaning facilities
· Ability to perform the duties
Education:
· BRC or HACCP Food Safety certificate would an asset
· Grade 12 Certificate
· Milling Certificate will be an asset
Wages and Benefits:
· $32.40 per hour
· Working Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day/40 hours per week
· Benefits to be discussed after probation period

o Explain the complete flow of grain intake to milling and all the machines and processes along the way to a finished product.
o What are the different product streams of milling wheat and it’s by- products?
o What are the different types of wheat and how are they different?
o Explain the damping process before grain is milled and the main reason why water is added to the grain before the milling process starts and what machines are commonly used after the damping process.
o If grain is being cleaned to get it to a specific quality what will be the impact if grain is being cleaned at a too high or too low capacity.
o Explain a few cleaning methods which can typically be used to clean grain for commercial, export or for milling purposes, mention a few machines as an example to elaborate.
o Calculate how much water addition is needed in order to get from 15% moisture from 12% dry moisture on a 5t/h mill?
o If a bin is 20m deep, when it is full it takes 120 tons how much product does it have when it is filled only 5m
