Acacia Landscape Inc. (https://www/acaciavictoria.com), located at 1018 Beckwith Avenue, Victoria, British Columbia, V8X 3S4, is seeking a full time and permanent Civil Engineering Technologist to join our team for design and implementation of landscaping projects (such as retaining walls, dams, etc,).  The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the planning, design, and implementation of residential and commercial construction projects. This role involves overseeing construction specifications, procedures, and ensuring project quality and efficiency. Acacia Landscape Inc. is serving Greater Victoria and surrounding areas.

Key Responsibilities

·       Develop and interpret construction specifications and procedures.

·       Assist with site surveying, quality control, and inventory management as needed.

·       Evaluate and recommend building and construction materials.

·       Approve designs, calculations, and cost estimates.

·       Create 2D and 3D CAD drawings using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Vectorworks, and other relevant platforms.

·       Assist in the design and detailing of earthworks, civil services, and concrete structures.

·       Work closely with foremen and field teams to optimize efficiencies.

·       Ensure compliance with municipal regulations, safety standards, and company policies.

·       Supervision all aspects and phases of construction projects.

·       Must be able to speak, write and read English as this is the language used in the workplace.

Qualifications 

·       Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering Technology or a related field from any jurisdiction

·       Certification as an Applied Science Technologist (AScT) in British Columbia or showing evidence that you are eligible  

Experience 

·       Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Vectorworks, and Microsoft Office Suite.

·       Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and regulatory requirements.

·       Experience in estimating, site surveying, and construction supervision.

·       Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

·       Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

·       Valid Driver’s License and ability to travel to project sites as required.

Employment Terms

·       $85 000.00 per year or $40,86 per hour, working 40 hours per week, paid bi-weekly, working from Monday to Friday, with a half an hour unpaid lunch break.

·       Probationary Period: Six months. Either party may give notice during this period.

·       Vacation & Leave: 15 paid vacation days annually, inclusive of sick leave.

o   8 vacation days must align with Acacia’s annual Christmas Closure.

·       Work Location: Work will be performed at Acacia’s offices or client sites using company-provided equipment.

·       Confidentiality Agreement: Employees must maintain confidentiality regarding company information, intellectual property, and proprietary documentation.
