Tasks for a general cook:

Preparing and cooking meals ( for groups, individuals and customers with allergies or intolerances)
Planning the menu while determining food portions
Estimating the amount of food needed and the costs
Monitoring food supplies while ordering when there is a shortage
Inspect kitchen and food service areas
Training staff in preparing, cooking and handling the food
