Task

  • Supervise, co-ordinate and schedule the activities of staff who prepare, portion and serve food
  • Estimate and order ingredients and supplies required for food preparation
  • Prepare food order summaries for chef according to requests from customers having special needs
  • Supervise the completion of party platters in a timely fashion by team based on Mediterranean and Non Mediterranean foods for customers requiring catering
  • Must ensure Deli is fully stocked at all times with speciality meats, sandwich meats,
  • variety of cheeses, olives, etc., meeting customer satisfaction
  • Establish work schedules and procedures
  • Maintain records of stock, repairs, sales and wastage
  • Train staff in job duties, and sanitation and safety procedures
  • Train staff on the importance of meeting health standards on a daily basis and the importance of handling foods with care
  • Supervise and check assembly of regular and special diet orders
  • Ensure that food and service meet quality control standards
  • May plan and determine related food and labour costs.
  • Must possess good reconciliation skills ensuring sales and shortages accounted for
  • Supervise the completion of party platters in a timely fashion by team based on Mediterranean and Non Mediterranean foods for customers requiring catering
  • Must ensure Deli is fully stocked at all times with speciality meats, sandwich meats, variety of cheeses, olives, etc., meeting customer satisfaction

Supervision

  • 1 – 3 people in the areas of food platter preparation, Deli area, and counter
  • attendants

 

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities

  • Fast paced environment having physical demand to meet customer needs.  Must be able to move quickly, stand for long periods of time, bend, crouch, kneel and continuously walk.  Position provides for sitting, standing and walking throughout the shift.
