Production Worker
With a staff of 275 at its 3 manufacturing plants. Northern Cables today operates 24/7 manufacturing six million metres of armoured cable monthly for industrial and commercial markets. It sells to major cable distributors in Canada and the United States and has come a long way from those formative years. Northern Cables Inc. is currently recruiting for factory production workers to come join the team.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Operate production machinery used to manufacture copper and aluminum power cables, including varieties of large rotating machinery and plastics extrusion.
Ensure correct operation of machinery and verify processing conditions.
Adjust machinery as required.
Record production information.
Qualifications:
At least twelve months of experience in cable manufacturing is required.
Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
Ability to work on various shifts, including nights and weekends.
Salary: $26.06 per hour in accordance with the collective agreement.
Bonus: Shift premiums of $1.66 per hour.
Benefits: Comprehensive benefits after 6 months which includes health, dental, life insurance coverage, RSP/DPSP match and 2 weeks paid vacations per year.
Job Type: Full-time permanent, at least 32 hours per week. 12-hour shift rotation.
Language: At least intermediate level of oral English proficiency is required.
