TOP DOG GARAGE DOORS INC is a manufacturing provider of a wide selection of residential and commercial garage doors made from a variety of materials, finish, and performance insulation options. We are currently looking for a Purchasing officer to join our team, who will be responsible for price evaluations, market assessments, product ordering, record keeping and tracking of inbound orders.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Purchase general and specialized equipment, materials or business services
• Assess requirements of an establishment and develop specifications for equipment, materials and supplies to be purchased
• Prepare purchase orders and requisitions for all product requirements
• Source suppliers based on price, availability, necessity, quality and logistical expenses
• Assess vendors and their offerings with in-person visits, interviews and analysis to assess their quality
• Negotiate sale agreements and supply contracts in ways that benefit the company
• Coordinate with shipping agencies and sellers to establish logistics,  ensure timely deliveries and oversee the integrity and quality of delivered goods and services
• May recruit or train clerk as purchasing assistants

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Post-secondary education in business administration, commerce or other area with equivalent experience
• Previous experience as a purchasing clerk or as an administrative clerk
• Knowledge of global business practice relating to the purchase, price, terms, shipment, taxes and payment for commodities and services,
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and written
• Ability to work cooperatively with customers, vendors, and management
• Computer proficiency and good working knowledge of MS Office
• Must be able to multitask and work with tight timelines
