Salary: $24.50 hourly / 36 hours per week

Overview: We at Colonial Countertops are seeking a skilled Apprentice Cabinetmaker to join our team in Victoria, BC. The ideal candidate will have some experience in woodworking, furniture finishing, and a keen eye for detail. As an apprentice, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and aesthetic appeal of our finished products.
Languages: English
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: 1 to less 2 years
Responsibilities:
- Study plans, specifications, or drawings of articles to be made
- Trim joints and fit parts and subassemblies together to form a complete unit and reinforce joints
- Sand wooden surfaces and apply veneer, stain, or polish to finished products; prepare and apply laminated plastics
- Apply varnish, veneer, stain, or polish to finished products
- Cut fill strips, glue, and staple fills
- Cap edges
- Make and install side splashes
- Communicate with production team members about potential complications
- Maintain and organize the work environment in the production area
- Work in a safe manner that complies with all safety guidelines
