POSITION SUMMARY:

The Carpenter Helper will be responsible for assisting skilled tradespersons and performing laboring activities at the College and the second campus.

 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • General assistance to the carpenter including assisting with all types of carpentry work in building wooden or part wooden items which form part of college (such as windows, chairs, desks and stairs) both internal and external, and additional associated wooden items, such as furniture.
  • Assisting in general carpentry work and preparation as directed.
  • As directed assist with storage, lifting, fetching supplies, unload and check deliveries.
  • Undertaking tasks to assisting carpenter generally.
  • Assist tradespersons such as carpenters in construction activities, especially at the second campus.
  • Remove rubble and other debris at construction sites using rakes, shovels, wheelbarrows and other equipment
  • Direct traffic at or near construction sites.
  • Assisting to identify hazards, defects and the need for adjustment or repair; to ensure compliance with agreed codes, law, working practices and health and safety
  • Immediately report problems/failures that may impact on the organization or which you think may affect health and safety.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Education: No education required.
  • Experience: 1 year of work experience as carpenter helper.
  • Languages: Speak English, Read English, Write English

Major Duties

– Prepare a variety of baked goods such as bread, pastries, and desserts

– Decorate cakes and pastries as per customer requests

– Ensure all baked items meet quality standards

– Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment

– Package and present baked goods attractively for sale

– Assist in inventory management and ordering supplies

– Passionate about baking

– Creative enough to make delicious treats

– Interact with clients and fulfill their orders effectively

– Proficient in food handling, food safety, and food preparation techniques

– Experience in cake decorating is a plus

– Able to cook and bake a variety of items

– Use kitchen equipment and procedures in the food industry

  • Overtime Pay (1.5 times of hourly wage after 40 hours of working in a week)
