Room Attendants

Who We Are- Keltic Lodge at the Highlands is a historic Cape Breton Resort and is located in the heart of Cape Breton Highlands National Park overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. Just 2 hours from Sydney, NS and a 5 hour drive from Halifax, the resort has been welcoming guests to Cape Breton, Nova Scotia since July 1940.

 

Title of Position – Room Attendants

 

Number of Vacancies – 4

 

Job Type- This is a permanent, full-time position, starting Fall/Winter 2023. 

 

Hours of work- 30 to 40 hours per week. Shifts include: weekends, holidays, morning, afternoon and evenings. Overtime may be required. 

 

Essential Functions-

  • Clean all aspects of the guest room, including beds, furniture, bathroom, carpet, etc.

  • Ensure linen and bedding are up to hotel standards

  • Ensure rooms are fully stocked with amenities

  • Take out garbage and recycling

  • Ensure all hotel rooms are completed in a timely manor

  • Folding and sorting linens 

  • Clean guest common-areas and lobbies

  • Report any damages and deficiencies through internal procedures

  • Report Lost & Found items

  • Train new Team Members

  • Maintain stocking of carts, closets, chemicals etc.

  • Follow Health and Safety rules and guidelines at all times

  • Perform other related duties as required by the Housekeeping Manager

  • Other duties as assigned

  • Communicate effectively with coworkers and customers in an English work environment

 

Wage- $16 per hour

 

Bonus – An additional peak season bonus of $2 per hour for each hour worked will be provided to all employees after October 31st 2024 who a) work a minimum of 500 hours between May and October 2024 and b) are still an employee of Keltic as of October 31st 2024. Other eligibility criteria are defined in the internal bonus policy. Bonus structure for future seasons is to be reviewed annually and not guaranteed.

Required Qualifications-

  • Basic English proficiency to communicate in English work environment.

  • Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks
