 Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years

 Work Experience: Seven months to one year experience in retail needed. Some experience in leading or directing teams is an asset

 

Position Summary

 

A Store Supervisor assists in all aspects of the day-to-day running of the business.

 

 

Duties and Responsibilities

 

• Manage staff and ensure that company standards are upheld

• Delegate tasks amongst employees

• Lead and assist workers in performing their day-to-day tasks

• Assist customers in a manner that exceeds customer expectations

• Ensure the store is kept clean at all times

• Maintain a healthy and safe working environment

• Assign sales workers to duties and prepare work schedules

• Authorize payments and the return of merchandise

• Resolve issues that may arise, including customer requests, complaints and supply shortages

• Maintain specified inventory and order merchandise

• Prepare reports regarding sales volumes, merchandising and personnel matters

• Other duties as assigned

 

 

 

Qualifications

 

• Experience and working knowledge of MS Office applications

 

• Experience and working knowledge of POS system and debit/interact terminals

 

• Proven leadership abilities

 

• Positive attitude and a pleasant disposition

 

• Strong communication skills

 

• Strong interpersonal skills

 

• Detail-oriented

 

• Ability to multi-task

 

• Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and professionalism

 

• Experience in a retail grocery/food environment is an asset

Food Counter Attendant

Responsibilities

Tasks

  • Bring clean dishes, flatware and other items to serving areas and set tables
  • Carrying and replace linen
  • Clean and sanitize items such as dishwasher mats, carts and waste disposal units
  • Clear and clean tables, trays and chairs
  • Operate dishwashers to wash dishes, glassware and flatware
  • Place dishes in storage area
  • Sanitize and wash dishes and other items by hand
  • Keep records of the quantities of food used
  • Package take-out food
  • Portion and wrap foods
  • Serve customers at counters or buffet tables
  • Stock refrigerators and salad bars
  • Take customers' orders
  • Clean and sanitize kitchen including work surfaces, cupboards, storage areas, appliances and equipment
  • Handle and store cleaning products
  • Receive, unpack and store supplies in refrigerators, freezers, cupboards and other storage areas
  • Remove kitchen garbage and trash
  • Sweep, mop, wash and polish floors
  • Wash, peel and cut vegetables and fruit
