Job Type: Permanent, Full Time, Weekend and Night

Salary: Hourly Rate of $36.00 for 30 hours per week.

POSITION SUMMARY

 

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Night Shift Kitchen Supervisor to oversee kitchen operations during overnight hours. The ideal candidate will ensure that food preparation, hygiene standards, and staff performance meet the highest standards while maintaining a smooth and efficient workflow. This role requires strong leadership, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

 

•Supervise and coordinate the activities of kitchen staff during overnight operations to ensure timely food preparation, quality standards, and continuous service.

•Assign duties, schedule staff, and provide on-the-job training and performance guidance to kitchen employees.

• Monitor and enforce compliance with food safety, sanitation, and occupational health standards in accordance with regulatory requirements.

•Oversee inventory control, stock rotation, and the requisition of food supplies and kitchen materials to support uninterrupted operations.

•Ensure proper storage of food products and supervise preparation activities to maintain readiness for subsequent shifts.

•Participate in menu planning and the development of daily or nightly specials, ensuring consistency in portioning, presentation, and quality.

•Supervise cleaning, closing, and equipment maintenance procedures, including waste management and safety protocols.

•Maintain operational records related to production, inventory usage, staff performance, and incidents occurring during the shift.

•Coordinate with management and incoming supervisory staff to ensure effective communication and continuity between shifts.

• Resolve operational issues and staff concerns during the shift and implement corrective actions as required.

 

 

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS REQUIRED:

 

  • Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year or equivalent experience
  • Experience: 1 year of experience in the food industry, including supervisory roles overseeing kitchen operations and staff.
  • Languages: Fluent in verbal and written English
