JOB REQUIREMENT 

Education: completion of a Pharmacy Assistant Diploma/ Certificate program ranging from 3 months to twelve months OR completion of secondary school and several months of on-the-job training.

Experience: 1 to less than 7 months

Language: English.

JOB DUTIES

  • Assess prescriptions for completeness

  • Enter clients’ information and prescription details in databases

  • Help pharmacists and other pharmacy staff with preparing, packaging and labeling of pharmaceutical products

  • Assist in maintaining inventories of medications and pharmaceutical products

  • Compound oral solutions, ointments and creams

  • May process medical billing information

  • May price and stock items on shelves.

  • Perform general clerical duties

 

Working setting : The candidate should be available to work full-time in the day

Pharmacy Technician Assistant

Job duties

 

  • Assist pharmacists to maintain inventories of medications and prescription records of pharmaceutical products
  • Assess prescriptions for completeness and ensure information is accurate
  • Gather and enter client information in databases and prepare medications for clients in collaboration with pharmacists
  • Compound pharmaceutical products such as intravenous injections, oral solutions, ointments and creams
  • Process payment of prescriptions and other pharmacy services including direct billing to third party insurers
  • Provide instructions on how to use health aids, and medical devices such as drug administration devices and monitoring devices
  • May help with scheduling and workflow.
