We are currently seeking four (4) dedicated Scaffold Erectors to join our team. At WESTCAN, we pride ourselves on quality and safety; all our products and services are thoroughly checked and compliant with the latest legislation.

Compensation & Terms
• Salary: $32.56 hourly / 40 hours per week
• Terms: 1-year contract (Term)
• Start Date: As soon as possible
• Vacancies: 4
• Schedule: Early morning, Morning, Day, Evening, Shift, Weekend; Overtime available and required.
Locations
• Office Address: 102-332 Columbia St, New Westminster, BC V3L 1A6
• Work Sites: Various locations (On the road). Frequent travel is required to different project sites.

Requirements & Qualifications
• Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of professional experience.
• Technical Knowledge: Proficiency in LAYHER SYSTEM SCAFFOLD and/or TUBE AND CLAMP SCAFFOLD is very desirable.
• Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.
• Credentials: Working at heights training/certification.
• Physical Capabilities: Ability to handle heavy loads (up to 23 kg / 50 lbs), manual dexterity, and the stamina for a physically demanding, fast-paced environment.
• Safety: Bondable. Must provide own steel-toed boots, hard hat, safety glasses, and gloves.
Key Responsibilities
• Assembly: Erect, install, and dismantle scaffolding, falsework, ramps, catwalks, shoring, and rigging/hoisting equipment.
• Specialization: Build staging for industrial, commercial, institutional projects, and heavy metalworking jobs.
• Maintenance: Load/unload materials, perform routine maintenance, and remove debris/rubble from sites.
• Safety Standards: Work confidently at heights and on swing stages while adhering to strict safety protocols.
Work Environment
You will be working in diverse conditions including:
• Outdoors in various weather (including cold/refrigerated environments).
• At heights and in confined spaces.
• Noisy, dusty, and potentially dangerous environments.

Allstar Waterproofing is seeking a Restoration Steeplejack for restoration projects. The position requires a person to work at heights often doing concrete restoration projects. The applicant must have knowledge and experience in restoration masonry.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Languages: English

Education: Other trades certificate or diploma or equivalent experience

Experience:  1 to 2 years

Own Tools/Equipment: Steel-toed safety boots, Hard hat, Tools

Transportation/Travel Information: Willing to travel, public transportation is available

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Remove and replace existing masonry work for alterations or restorations.
  • Restore, Repair or replace masonry (brick, stone or concrete), carry out general repair, remove and clean and repair windows, as well as sandblasting and other masonry cleaning tasks.
  • Install and use rappelling equipment, swing stage, high ladders, specialized scaffolding and elevated work platforms around high structures.
  • Inspect and assess building damage and perform repairs Installing masonry coatings, waterproofing, brick and stone pointing, precast repairs and replacement, caulking, natural stone restoration and cornice repairs.
  • Maintaining health and safety laws and upholding standards and quality outlined by Allstar Waterproofing.

Equipment and Machinery Experience: Industrial lift trucks and fork-lifts, Power tools, Hand tools

Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.)

  • Aerial lift and aerial work platform Certification
  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate
  • Forklift Operator Certification
