JOB REQUIREMENT

Education:
Applicants must have completed high school.

 Training in esthetics, salon management, or a related area through a college or vocational program is an asset but not mandatory.

Experience:
Candidates should have at least 1 year of experience working in a nail salon or similar personal care setting. Prior experience supervising staff or managing salon operations is strongly preferred.

Skills:

  • Understanding of nail care services, sanitation procedures, and customer care

  • Confident in assisting with scheduling, inventory, and salon workflow

  • Able to lead a small team and provide support to technicians as needed

  • Comfortable handling customer inquiries and resolving issues politely and professionally

  • Familiarity with salon software or point-of-sale systems is a bonus

 

Language: English is required to communicate effectively with clients, staff, and management.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

This position is responsible for assisting the Salon Owner in managing the daily operations of the nail salon and ensuring smooth, efficient, and customer-focused service delivery.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting with day-to-day operational tasks to maintain a clean, organized, and professional environment

  • Assisting in the implementation of salon policies, procedures, and service standards

  • Monitoring inventory and ordering supplies as needed

  • Addressing customer concerns and resolving service-related issues

  • Supporting marketing and promotional activities, including social media

  • Assisting with hiring, training, and supervising salon staff

  • Helping manage staff scheduling and coverage

Task for Hairstylists

  • Suggest hairstyle compatible with client’s physical features or determine style from client’s instructions and preferences
  • Cut, trim, taper, curl, and style hair
  • Analyze hair and scalp condition and provide basic treatment or advice on beauty care treatments for scalp and hair
  • May shampoo and rinse hair
  • May perform receptionist duties and order supplies
  • May train or supervise other hairstylists, hairstylist apprentices and helpers.

Work Conditions and Physical capabilities:

  • High volume hair salon in the heart of Southwest Edmonton. Significant repeat clientele and walk ins.  Business continues to grow at rapid pace.
  • Must be able to stand for a long period of time due to continuous clientele
