JOB DUTIES

  • Read and understand construction drawings and blueprints to determine project specifications.

  • Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools

  • Accurately measure, cut, and shape wood, plywood, and other materials according to specifications.

  • Construct frameworks, including walls, floors, and roofs, using nails, screws, and adhesives.

  • Install doors, windows, cabinets, and other fixtures as per project requirements.

  • Repair damaged frameworks or structures and ensure they meet safety standards.

  • Sand, stain, and varnish wood surfaces to achieve a polished finish.

  • Work closely with other construction professionals, including electricians, plumbers, and laborers, to complete projects efficiently.

  • Prepare estimates of labor and/or material costs
