Employment Requirement

-Completion of a post-secondary diploma or degree; education background in related field preferred

-A minimum 2 years of work experience in transportation, import/export, logistics or freight forwarding industry

 

Skills and Qualifications

-Reliable and a team player

-Ability to supervise 3-4 people

-Strong verbal and written communication skills in English

-Solid computer skills in Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

-Knowledge in logistics, cargo management, supply chain, transportation, freight and shipments

 

Main Duties

-Supervise and review the work of clerks in operational logistics of the company

-Coordinate and organize activities with other work units and departments

-Oversee and ensure compliance with policies, standards and regulations in force

-Monitor and prepare reports on the process of warehousing, supply chain and freight forwarding

-Interact and consult domestic and international clients in logistic services

-Resolve work-related problems and complaints and implement corrective measures

-Train workers in job duties and company policies, procedures and guidelines

-May perform the same duties as workers supervised

Truck Dispatcher

Truck Dispatcher : $31/hr 

Description

Dispatchers operate radios and other telecommunication equipment to dispatch emergency vehicles and to coordinate the activities of drivers and other personnel. They are employed by police, fire and health departments, other emergency service agencies, taxi, delivery and courier services, trucking and utilities companies, and other commercial and industrial establishments.

Job duties

  • Process and transmit information and instructions to coordinate the activities of vehicle operators, crews and equipment using a variety of computer-aided communications and dispatching equipment
  • Dispatch personnel according to written schedules and work orders, or as required by emergency situations
  • Advise vehicle operators of route and traffic problems such as construction, accidents, congestion, weather conditions, weight and size restrictions and other information
  • Monitor personnel workloads and locations
  • Maintain vehicle operator work records using computerized or manual methods and ensure time sheets and payroll summaries are completed accurately
  • Maintain computer and manual records of mileage, fuel use, repairs and other expenses, and generate reports.
