We are looking for a full-time Early Childhood Educator Assistant.

Job Description:
Position: Early Childhood Educator Assistant
Vacancy: 1
Working Hours: 40 hours per week
Wage: 20.00 CAD per hour
Benefits: Dental, health and financial benefits after 6-month probation

Main duties:
• Support early childhood educators in carrying out programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children
• Assist early childhood educators or supervisors in keeping records
• Engage children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs and preparing crafts
• Maintain daycare equipment and assist in housekeeping and cooking duties
• Prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods
• Submit written observations on children to early childhood educators or supervisors
• Attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children

Job Requirement:
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Experience an asset
Security and Safety: Criminal record check, Immunization Records, Medical exam, Tuberculosis test
Personal Suitability: Punctuality, Dependability, Excellent oral and written communication, Team player, Reliability, Values and ethics
Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): Early Childhood Education Assistant (ECE-A) Certificate

Job Title: Apprentice Cabinetmaker

Salary: $24.50 hourly / 36 hours per week

Overview: We at Colonial Countertops are seeking a skilled Apprentice Cabinetmaker to join our team in Victoria, BC. The ideal candidate will have some experience in woodworking, furniture finishing, and a keen eye for detail. As an apprentice, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and aesthetic appeal of our finished products.

Languages: English

Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate

Experience: 1 to less 2 years

Responsibilities:

  • Study plans, specifications, or drawings of articles to be made
  • Trim joints and fit parts and subassemblies together to form a complete unit and reinforce joints
  • Sand wooden surfaces and apply veneer, stain, or polish to finished products; prepare and apply laminated plastics
  • Apply varnish, veneer, stain, or polish to finished products
  • Cut fill strips, glue, and staple fills
  • Cap edges
  • Make and install side splashes
  • Communicate with production team members about potential complications
  • Maintain and organize the work environment in the production area
  • Work in a safe manner that complies with all safety guidelines
