KidiKare Early Learning Centre specializes in children aged from birth to 12 years. We provide children with opportunities that support all areas of their early childhood education and physical, nutritional, social, emotional, and cognitive development. Our daily programs focus on play-based experiences and activities that encourage each child to reach their full potential. Indoor and outdoor play, individual and small group time, teacher-directed and child- initiated activities, as well as active and quiet periods throughout each day, encourage children to be strong, self-confident and happy individuals with a respect for themselves and others. Job Description:

Position: Early Childhood Educator

Vacancy: 1

Working Hours: 35 – 40 hours per week

Wage: 20.00 CAD per hour

Benefits: $6 CAD per hour wage enhancement provided by the British Columbia Child Development Department.
             : Health Benefits – after 6 months employment.

Job Offer Type: Full-time, Permanent

Main duties:

  • Develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children

  • Lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs and taking children to local points of interest

  • Encourage children to express creativity through the media of art, dramatic play, music and physical activity

  • Guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing and toilet habits

  • Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioural problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians or supervisor

  • Discuss progress and problems of children at staff meetings

  • Attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children

  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children

  • Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security and well-being of children

  • Plan and organize activities for school-age children in child-care programs before and after regular school hours

 

Job Requirement:

License: Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate

Education: College/CEGEP

Experience: Experience an asset

Security and Safety: Criminal record check, Immunization Records

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Repetitive tasks, Attention to detail, Combination of sitting, standing, walking

Personal Suitability: Punctuality, Excellent oral communication, Values and ethics, Reliability, Flexibility, Team player

Calculate portion sizes and associated costs for food.

Prepare and cook entire meals or specific dishes and food items.

Inspect kitchen and food service areas to ensure cleanliness and safety.

Train staff in food preparation, cooking techniques, and safe food handling practices.

Oversee the work of kitchen staff and helpers.

Keep inventory and maintain records of food, supplies, and equipment.

Clean the kitchen and work areas to maintain hygiene standards.

Manage overall kitchen operations.
