Job Description:
Position: Early Childhood Educator
Vacancy: 1
Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Wage: $20.00 – $22.00 CAD per hour
Job Offer Type: Full-time, Permanent
Benefits: $6 CAD per hour wage enhancement provided by the British Columbia Child Development Department / Health Benefits

Main duties:
-Develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children
-Lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs and taking children to local points of interest
-Engage children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs and preparing crafts
-Guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing and toilet habits
-Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioural problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians or supervisor
-Discuss progress and problems of children at staff meetings
-Attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children
-Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children
-Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security and well-being of children
-Plan and organize activities for school-age children in child-care programs before and after regular school hours

Job Requirement:
License: British Columbia Early Childhood Educator License Required
Education: College, CEGEP
Experience: Experience an asset
Security and Safety: Criminal record check, Immunization Records
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Physically demanding, Attention to detail, Combination of sitting, standing,
walking
Personal Suitability: Punctuality, Excellent written communication, Values and ethics, Reliability, Dependability, Team player

Wage rate: $30 – $35 per hour ; To be negotiated depend on experience/ 30-40 hours per week

JOB REQUIREMENT 

Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate

Experience: Minimum 2 years experience 

Language: English

 

JOB DUTIES

Prepare estimates of labor and/or material costs

Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements

Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools

Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials

Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems

Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware

Schedule and coordinate work on sites

Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants and other establishments

 

 

Working setting : Construction, residential and commercial.
Work conditions:

  • Bending, crouching, kneeling

  • Combination of sitting, standing, walking

  • Handling heavy loads

  • Physically demanding
