Allstar Waterproofing & Restoration Systems Ltd. is seeking a dedicated and experienced Concrete Finisher to join our team in Vancouver, BC. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to diverse restoration and waterproofing projects across the Lower Mainland.

Position Details

  • Job Title: Concrete Finisher
  • NOC: 73100 – Concrete Finishers
  • Term: 1-year contract (potential for extension)
  • Hours: 40 hours per week
  • Hourly Rate: $34.00
  • Location: Work will be conducted at various job sites throughout Vancouver and the surrounding areas. The physical office location is Unit 100 – 220 Victoria Drive, Vancouver, BC V5L 0C7.
  • Vacation Pay: 4%

Key Responsibilities (Job Duties)

The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of tasks related to concrete work, with a focus on restoration and repairs:

  • Concrete Repair and Preparation: Prepare, clean, and grind concrete surfaces, remove damaged concrete, and set forms for concrete placement and repair.
  • Placing and Finishing Concrete: Pour, spread, and level concrete using rakes, shovels, and power screeds, ensuring proper consistency and finish.
  • Shaping and Smoothing: Operate power vibrators to consolidate concrete and use hand and power tools (e.g., floats, trowels, edgers) to produce a smooth, textured, or specialty finish.
  • Curing and Sealing: Apply curing compounds, sealants, or other materials to protect concrete and enhance its durability.
  • Formwork and Reinforcement: May assist in setting up and dismantling concrete forms and placing reinforcing materials like rebar or mesh.
  • Restoration Work: Specifically focus on fixing, repairing, and restoring existing concrete structures, including patching, crack injection, and spall repairs.
  • Safety and Standards: Ensure work is completed according to project specifications, blueprints, and safety regulations.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Experience: 1 to 3 years of experience as a Concrete Finisher.
  • Education: Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Physical Requirements: Must have the ability to lift weights ranging from 20 to 50 lbs regularly.
  • Working at Heights: Must be comfortable and capable of working safely at heights (e.g., on scaffolding, elevated work platforms).
  • Communication: Must be able to communicate effectively (oral and written) with supervisors, colleagues, and clients.
  • Teamwork: Proven ability to work well as a team player in a dynamic construction environment.

Tasks:
– Develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children
