Signature Aluminum is a leading provider of aluminum casting and extrusion solutions for heavy industrial applications. Looking for a Technical Sales Specialist – metal for our Pickering facility. The position is responsible for implementing and maintaining data-driven systems for costing, pricing and quoting. To drive existing and future business for the organization, thereby providing a consistent means of evaluating customer profitability and operational performance. Duties include: Provide quick turnaround quotes on repeat business.

• Represent commercial and customer interests in production feasibility meetings. Provide input on design changes to achieve desirable results for both parties.

• Attend Advanced Product Quality Planning(APQP) meetings. Participate in the APQP process from design conception to the final product launch.

• Update and review the open shapes catalogue to identify opportunities for discussion with sales.

• Work with the systems development teams to integrate the costing, pricing and quote models into existing software systems.

• Manage and maintain the ZOHO CRM database for quoting and customer information.

• Provide updates to the commercial team regarding the status of quote on a regular basis.

• Validate tooling and material purchase orders with quoted figures.

• Review jobs rejected or lost to determine opportunities for technical development.

• Monitor customer enquiries to determine the need for expansion of open shapes.

• Create and maintain documentation of business processes, requirements and analysis for internal stakeholders.

• Assist in the planning and execution of projects aimed at improving operational performance and achieving business objectives.

• Collaborate with customers in multiple time zones.

Key Competencies: Ability to interpret blueprints, 2D and 3D CAD drawings.

• A strong understanding of GD&T tolerances with critical safety requirements.

• Comfortable working in a hazardous high paced aluminum unionized facility.

• Strong familiarity with alloy-tempers, chemical composition.

• Firm understanding of aluminum casting and extrusion processes is an asset.

• Must demonstrate confidence while quoting high value products and purchasing high value machinery.

• Strong analytical skills.

• Experience with database management.

• Ability to work with a sense of urgency.

• Works well as a member of a team in a collaborative manner.

• Self-directed and independent.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Associate degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering or a related field.

• Minimum of 3-5 years in a corporate workplace, providing business analysis related work experience.

• Should demonstrate experience in dealing with Automotive, Agricultural, Aerospace and Civil Industries. Familiarity with the respective standards and practices is a must.

• Advanced competency in accounting software & Microsoft Excel.

• Proficient in using VISIBILITY and various MS-DOS based programs.

• Exposure to Epicor ERP would be beneficial.

• Strong understanding of International Commercial Terms (INCOTERMS), transit cost and Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs) will be considered an asset.

• In-depth knowledge of financial systems and ERP data extraction.

• Advanced proficiency in cost accounting with at least two years of practical experience.

Full time position (32 hours per week) $35 per hour
