Assistant Chef

Location: Toronto, ON
Salary:  $27.00 hr. 30 hr/wk

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (3 years to less than 5 years)

Responsibilities
• Maintain records of food costs, consumption, sales and inventory
• Demonstrate new cooking techniques and new equipment to cooking staff
• Instruct cooks in preparation, cooking, garnishing and presentation of food
• Supervise cooks and other kitchen staff
• Requisition food and kitchen supplies
• Estimate food requirements and food and labour costs
• Plan menus and ensure food meets quality standards
• Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances
• Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food
• Supervision of 5-10 people
• Safe Food Handling certificate/Food Safety Certificate
• Experience and specialization: Canadian/Mexican Cuisine

Kitchen Supervisor

Must have 3 to 5 years of experience as a Kitchen Supervisor in a fast-paced restaurant environment.

Able to supervise up to 10 individuals. Must be able to work shifts. Permanent full-time position. Bondable  budgetary responsibility fo $1,500,000

Own transportation. Plan organize, direct, control and evaluate daily operations

Conduct performance reviews. Enforce provincial liquor legislation and regulations. Provide customer service. Ensure health and safety regulations are followed.
