Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience

Overtime Hours: 44 working hours/ week

Vacation Pay: 10 paid vacation days during the vacation entitlement year.

Responsibilities:

As a Freight forwarding logistician at Intertrans Express (Canada), Inc., you will be instrumental in shaping our brand and engaging our community. In addition to the previously mentioned responsibilities, you will also:

  • Handle the complete process of freight forwarding job files for air, ocean, or land transports independently.
  • Support fellow Logistics Coordinators and solve problems about shipments.
  • Research and follow-up regarding customer inquiries/problems regarding import and export shipments.
  • Liaise and follow up with overseas agents and carriers, whether Air, Ocean, Road or Rail, IEI USA offices for freight rate negotiations and service contracts.
  • Update various information in ECargo, IEI database on freight, customer information, etc. Preparation and pulling out of periodic reports.
  • Maintain good industry knowledge of competition and services and keep up to date on IEI services and products.
  • Maintain shipment order files, issue shipment orders to customers, and follow up until freight is delivered to the destination.
  • Follow-up on Canadian Import / Export Documentation procedures for IEI Import and export shipments.
  • Ensure all documentation is reviewed and correct.
  • Filing correct information with CBSA, FMC and other Canadian and U.S. authorities.
  • Ensure that company activities are confidential.
  • Other functions as required.

Experience and Specialization:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • One year to less than two years of experience in this industry.
  • Must have good communication skills, both written and verbal in English.
  • Must be able to work under pressure.
  • Take direction from supervisor and superiors.
  • Computer knowledge at the user level -Use and familiarity with Microsoft Office suite products (i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel, MS Windows) and other company software applications.
  • Learn and navigate our proprietary software.
  • Good knowledge of import/export documentation, Incoterms and logistics
