As a Long-Haul Driver (NOC 73300), you will perform all or some of the following duties:

  • Professionalism in customer service.
  • Load and unload goods.
  • Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment.
  • Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle.
  • Receive and relay information to central dispatch.
  • Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption.
  • Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo.
  • Willing to travel overnight.
  • Operate GPS and other navigation equipment, trip computer.
  • Driver logbook, Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip).
  • Drive manual transmission vehicle

Language Requirements: English

Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience

Employment conditions: Early morning, Morning, Day, Evening, Night, Weekend, Overtime

Terms of employment: Full Time / Permanent (30 to 35 hours / week), Paid Vacation

Compensation: CAD $36.25 /hour

Type of Trucking and Equipment: Refrigerated, Tractor-trailer, Tractor-trailer A train & Tractor-trailer B train

Weight Handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs)

Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): AZ class license.

Communication systems experience: Operate GPS and other navigation equipment, trip computer.

Security and Safety: Valid Passport, Driver’s validity licence check, Driving record check, drug test.

Transportation/Travel Information: Drive Manual transmission vehicle, Valid driver’s license, Willing to travel cross border and willing to travel overnight

Work conditions and physical capabilities: Handling Heavy Loads, Overtime required, physically demanding, Repetitive tasks, Sitting

Job Duties
Interpret welding process specifications
Operate manual or semi-automatic, fully automated welding equipment
Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings specifications, manuals and processes
Examine welds and ensure that they meet standards and/or specifications
Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment
Fit, braze and torch-straighten metal
Operate oxygen arc cutting equipment (arc-air), (AOC)
Determine weldability of materials
Operate hoisting and lifting equipment
Operate previously set-up welding machines to fabricate or repair metal parts and products
Operate previously set-up brazing or soldering machines to bond metal or to fill holes, indentations and seams of metal
Start up, shut down, adjust and monitor robotic welding production line
Maintain and perform minor repairs on welding, brazing and soldering equipment

Employment Requirements
• Completion of secondary school is required
• Completion of a welding apprenticeship program or equivalent experience.

• Experience in maintenance-related fabrication or industrial repair is strongly preferred
