The company operates in North America through its locations in Canada and the USA. We are now looking to expand operations into the Middle-East, basing the operational hub in Dubai.

We Are Looking For

The successful candidate for this role will demonstrate a vision, strategic planning, excellent analytical thinking, networking and negotiating skills, and regulatory understanding as it relates to Canada/US  and broadly the Middle-East, and sales supported with superior communication and interpersonal abilities.

Fundamentally, a professional grounded in hard-core sales with at least 10 years of experience in a like industry. In addition, the selected candidate will have at least 3 years of recent exposure in a Business Development leadership role with a deep understanding of the up – and down-stream operations of our industry that will facilitate overseeing our North American business development function across the entire product range on a day-to-day basis as well as setting up the company’s hub in the United Arab Emirates for serving the entire-Middle-Eastern region.  The right candidate will be an expert negotiator and a proven trouble-shooter together with the demonstrable ability to leverage existing business networks in the UAE – and broadly the Middle-East – which would require an intimate knowledge of financial/regulatory environment, including nuanced business culture, for successful expansion of our market in the Middle-East.  Frequent travel to the UAE will be required for establishing the launch pad on which our operations will be based.

As our product range incorporates embedded IT technologies, the candidate’s ability and prior IT education allowing understanding and fine tuning the software for meeting the expectations of our potential customers’ requirements will be a definite plus.

The success in this role will require an extensive experience with B2B deals, proven track record in this industry relating to new business development and sales.

Roles and Responsibilities

This position will broadly be responsible for:

  • Leading the business development function across the entire range of company’s products.
  • Nurturing existing business relationships while growing the customer base by developing new market opportunities in Canada and US; expanding the company’s footprint and sale volumes.
  • Being the point-person in setting up the launch pad for company’s penetration into the Middle-Eastern market by establishing new customers, vendors etc.
  • Providing logistical support to the operation team’s UAE market entry.

The role will be exercised through the following key functional elements:

  • Developing a growth strategy focused both on financial gain and customer satisfaction
  • Contacting potential clients to establish rapport and arrange meetings.
  • Planning and overseeing new marketing initiatives.
  • Conducting research to identify new opportunities/markets and customer needs
  • Leveraging existing networks and business relationships in the Middle-East
  • Researching organizations and individuals to find new opportunities.
  • Promoting the company’s products/services addressing or predicting clients’ objectives
  • Increasing the value of current customers while attracting new ones.
  • Finding and developing new markets and improving sales.
  • Attending conferences, meetings, and industry events.
  • Developing quotes and proposals for clients.
  • Negotiating and preparing sales contracts ensuring adherence to law-established rules and guidelines
  • Developing targets for business growth and ensuring they are met.
  • Responding to RFP’s, tenders, and developing sales in new sales territories.
  • Training personnel and helping team members develop their skills

Education & Experience

  • Undergraduate degree in business, marketing or related field OR a combination of any post-secondary study and relevant experience.
  • Proven working experience of a minimum of 3 years in a business development middle-management role and 10+ years in sales in a leadership role

Skills

  • Demonstrable sales track record of at least 10 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong communication, negotiation and networking skills.
  • Hands-on knowledge of and ability to navigate the UAE business/regulatory environment and culture.
  • Established business networks in the UAE/Middle-East with customers/vendors, including regulatory authorities and financial institutions.
  • Leadership, team building and mentoring skills to recruit, groom and lead 3-5 direct reports and cross-functional teams
  • IT fluency in embedded technologies such as Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning and Cloud storage and associated software.
  • Ability to manage complex projects and multi-task.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Sound judgment.
  • Ability to flourish with minimal guidance, be proactive, and handle uncertainty.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and CRM software (e.g. Salesforce)
  • Proficiency in English

Compensation and Benefits

$84,994.00 annually based on a 35- hour work week

In 2018, we opened a 45,000 sqft warehouse and a processing center in Toronto, Ontario, which offers recycling solutions for our operation.

At Gallops Canada, our focus is on commodity trading and international logistics solutions for recycled paper and plastics on a global scale. In line with this mission, we have established a dedicated division for plastic molding and pelletizing. This division is responsible for creating high-quality plastic pellets that are tailored to meet the unique needs of our end users.

Gallops Canada is Canada’s fastest-growing recycled paper exporter and Importer of Paper products and currently serves over 30 paper mills in the Asian markets. Gallops Canada covers all paper materials products and recycled materials, trading and logistics.

Gallops Canada currently processes approx 75000MT of residential, commercial and industrial recycled paper and cardboard worldwide. In Ontario, we are presently servicing eight cities belonging to the Region of Durham( Ajax, Pickering, Whitby, Oshawa, Carlington, Brock, Uxbridge, and Scugog ) with their residential and commercial paper recycling.

Who We Are Looking For

The company is looking to hire a plant manager for running and overseeing the daily operations of the production process in our manufacturing facility.  The selected candidate will be expected to set up the machines and a safe environment for production; manage the workflow for the production project; ensure efficiency during the process as well as oversee the quality assurance of produced materials/ goods.

The best candidate will be adept at lean manufacturing and will be focused on improving efficiencies and processes in a facility. He/she will have prior education at the Bachelor’s level in manufacturing or mechanical engineering together with 3 to less than 5 years experience in production/manufacturing facility, part of which should be in a leadership position.

Responsibilities

The selected candidate will deliver on the following:

  • Establish goals for production, and coordinate a plan to meet those goals
  • Ensure production stays on schedule
  • Assure products meet quality standards
  • Write production reports
  • Analyze production data and optimize for efficiency
  • Direct an efficient layout of equipment and flow of materials
  • Ensure workers and equipment meet performance and safety requirements
  • Watch for hiccups in the process, and look for opportunities to improve operations
  • Implementing new technology to increase efficiency and productivity in the production process
  • Program and calibrate machines to ensure quality and efficiency
  • Hire, train, and assess the performance of workers
  • Supervise staff and delegate tasks to employees
  • Managing employee training to ensure that they are always using safe work practices and using the most efficient methods possible
  • Establishing policies and procedures to ensure that manufacturing operations run smoothly and efficiently
  • Communicate with other departments, such as the financial department to establish budgets, HR department to hire new workers, or the logistics department to ensure the delivery of products

Education and Certifications

  • Prior Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing or engineering degree with manufacturing major.
  • Technical certifications in manufacturing (e.g. Lean Manufacturing (Six Sigma), AutoCAD/CAM software, and Project Management)

Work Experience

At least 4 years of prior experience comprising of combination of plant management and shop-floor manufacturing/Quality Assurance.
