Administrative Officer – Immigration Services

Responsibilities

As our new administrative officer, you have a central position within our organisation. Within our Canadian department in Toronto, you assist our visa specialists with interesting cases. In your position, you take care of all administrative acts and their quality. You prepare customer files and visa applications for Canada. In doing so, you collect data, request required documents, fill out visa applications and check all information and documents carefully for accuracy and completeness.

In short: you make sure that all administrative acts concerning the visa procedures are well taken care of.

Requirements

You are fluent in English and German (verbal and written) and have an excellent knowledge of administrative acts. All our files are in English, but our customers are both German- and English-speaking. We communicate with formal, government-related organisations, so it is very important that you have full command of both languages.

Further requirements:

  • You have a college or university degree in legal studies, business administration or a related field.
  • You are familiar with Canada's immigration policies and programs and have experience in preparing applications for temporary and permanent residence.
  • You enjoy the challenge of understanding complex legislative acts.
  • You have excellent IT skills and are well-versed in bookkeeping.
  • You are customer-friendly, detail-oriented and accurate in your work.
  • You are interested in pursuing further education to become a Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC).

Responsibilities

Tasks

  • Actively manage a portfolio of construction and term financing investments from initial underwriting and funding through to maturity.
    • Review broker/borrower information packages, evaluate and analyze information and prepare underwriting models to support potential mortgage investments including butnot limited to senior, junior, construction and income producing property financing.
    • Conduct investment analysis including: verify accuracy of broker/borrower information, assess capacity of borrower, create/populate financial models to support invest-ment decisions, analyze borrower and guarantor financial statements, attend site visits, and assess suitability of all of the forgoing in context of corporate risk tolerance.
    • Actively manage and review renewals/amendments of the construction and commercial portfolio.
    • Manage existing accounts, borrower relationships, third party consultants, solicitors and syndicate partners.
    • Monitor the portfolio of construction loans, inventory loans and commercial loans to ensure that the loans are performing as stipulated by the approved terms.
    • Manage risk by exercising prudence and due diligence while reviewing, assessing, and approving applications.
    • Maintain quality relationships with clients to understand their needs and objectives and explore opportunities.
