Task for Hairstylists

  • Suggest hairstyle compatible with client’s physical features or determine style from client’s instructions and preferences
  • Cut, trim, taper, curl, and style hair
  • Analyze hair and scalp condition and provide basic treatment or advice on beauty care treatments for scalp and hair
  • May shampoo and rinse hair
  • May perform receptionist duties and order supplies
  • May train or supervise other hairstylists, hairstylist apprentices and helpers.

Job duties

  • Manage and direct the daily operations at a liquor store that specializes in the selling of alcohol
  • Develop retail objectives for the store
  • In charge of overseeing the liquor store day-to-day activities, including but not limited to store opening, store closing, ordering items and handling stock levels, restocking and storing product, displaying/presenting products, storing products, keeping the store’s general appearance, monitoring sales and expenditures, registering sales, client service and cash processing (cash reconciliation, bank cash deposits)
  • Direct stocking tasks (controlling stock – this entails assessing all merchandise on hand regularly, monitoring revenue and traffic trends, basing future purchases on this information)
  • Ensure that the products are refilled on racks and that the sales area is properly maintained and welcoming to customers
  • Inventory management – cyclical counts and inventory control (monitoring inventory) – this entails ordering the appropriate quantity of products to meet client demand; maintain proper store inventory
  • Placing orders with multiple vendors
  • Receiving orders in the system
  • Understand the applicable provincial liquor legislation; establish policies and procedures guaranteeing compliance with applicable laws and regulations
  • Assist customers with questions about spirits, wine and beer – communicate with customers face to face or over the phone

Terms of employment

Permanent, full-time position – 40 hours per week.

The position requires occasional availability during weekends and stat holidays.

Expected Employment Start Date: December 15, 2022

$31 per hour

Skills requirements

Education

  • Secondary school required
  • Serving It Right Certificate evidencing successful completion of BC responsible sale and service training program for liquor required
  • WSET Level 1 or higher required

Work experience

  • Minimum of one-year previous managerial experience (store operations and and employee management)
  • Previous liquor store experience
  • Ability to manage a retail operation as an effective manager
  • Previous experience working in retail
  • We require a minimum of 5 written industry-specific references
  • Knowledge of retail and liquor store principles and procedures
  • Knowledge of safety procedures and “right to refuse” sales
  • Knowledge or liquor retailing and product lines sold in liquor stores
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Superb computer dexterity with higher knowledge in the following software:
  • Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Powerpoint, WhenToWork scheduling software
  • Excellent knowledge of Profitek Point of Sale software and LDB (Liquor Distribution Branch) ordering interface
  • Practical experience with interprovincial special ordering
  • Outstanding product knowledge in wine, spirits and beer portfolios
  • Knowledge of types or liquor, beer and wine on display and ability to suggest selections suitable to customer’s needs
  • Knowledge of provincial laws and regulations related to liquor sales
  • Positive client service focused mindset
