Job Description:

Company: Avro Transport Inc.

Permanent Position: Long Haul Truck Driver (NOC73300)

Terms of Employment: Permanent, Full Time, Overtime, Weekend, Day, Night, Evening shift.

Wage : $25.00 Hourly, for 50.00 Hours per week

Benefits: Relocation Expenses & Medical Insurance for first 3 months covered by employer, if required.

Anticipated Start Date: As soon as possible

Location: Bolton, Ontario, CA L7E 4G2

Number of positions available: 1 position

Education: Not required

Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): Driver’s Licence (Class 1 or A) and Air

Brake (Z) Endorsement.

Experience: No experience required. Paid on job training will be provided

Languages: Basic Knowledge of English

Type of Travel: Long-haul,

Provincial/territorial, International.

Documentation Knowledge: Driver logbook, Bill of lading, Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post trip),

Trans-border documentation, Maintenance and repair reports, Trip reports, Accident, or incident

reports.

Communication Equipment Experience: Cellular phone, Satellite tracking (GPS) equipment

Weight Handling: Up to 45 kg (100 lbs.)

Job Duties:

  • Operate and drive trucks to transport goods.
  • Loading and unloading of goods.
  • Plan travel schedules and routes using trip planning aids.
  • Receive and submit information to dispatch.
  • Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy.
  • Inspect tires, lights, brakes, and other equipment for safe operation of vehicle.
  • Monitor vehicle performance and mechanical fitness.
  • Maintain Logbooks and other documents required.
  • Record cargo information, distance travelled, fuel consumption Communicate with dispatcher.
  • Ensure safety and rules & regulations are followed.

Security and Safety: Basic security clearance, Criminal record check, Driving record check (abstract),

Medical exam, Drug test.

Transportation/Travel Information: Willing to travel cross-border, willing to travel for extended periods,

willing to travel overnight, willing to travel as two-person team, valid driver’s license.

Work Location Information: Various locations in Canada and North America.
