Job duties include:

  • Establish work schedules, procedures and coordinate activities with drivers, shipping, receiving and accounting
  • Scheduling and proactively dispatching/supervising a fleet of drivers (local/line haul/owner operators), trucks and trailers by coordinating with other dispatchers
  • Utilize company software and programs to dispatch trucks and update equipment status on internal systems
  • Assign drivers and trucks, and design routes
  • Direct the pickup and delivery activities
  • Receive customer requests for the pickup and delivery of freight and consolidate freight orders into truckloads for specific destinations
  • Professionally communicate between customers, drivers and dock workers to ensure delivery appointments are kept and are according to client specifications
  • Prepare and submit progress and other reports
  • Train workers in job duties, safety procedures and company policies
  • Ensure smooth operation of computer systems, equipment and machinery and arrange for maintenance and repair work
  • Handle multiple calls and methods of communication including email, text messaging and in person

Job skills:

  • Previous Dispatch experience in the trucking industry will be an asset
  • Working knowledge of office equipment, like printers, scanners and fax machines
  • Tech-savvy with dedicated logistics software
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize work
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to learn new tasks quickly

Job Duties:

 

Greet people and direct them to contacts or service areas,

Handle offi ce tasks, such as fi ling, generating reports andpresentations, setting up for meetings,

Handle sensitive information in a confi dential manner

Schedule, Manage and confi rm appointments,

Screening phone calls and routing callers to the appropriate party,

Write and distribute email, correspondence memos, letters, faxes andforms,

Order offi ce supplies and maintain inventory,

Develop and maintain manual and computerized information fi lingsystems,

Develop and update administrative systems to make them moreeffi cient,

Open and distribute regular and electronic incoming mail and othermaterial and co-ordinate the fl ow of information,

 

 

Requirements:

 

Proven experience as an assistant or offi ce admin will be required

Working knowledge of offi ce equipment, like printers, scanners and faxmachines

Profi ciency in MS Offi ce (MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS word)

Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize work

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
