Job Duties: Operate and drive company trucks to locations across Canada and the US, transporting goods and materials Perform pre-trip inspections of the truck, vehicle systems and equipment, brakes, tires and lights Use GPS or maps to chart out the best route which is time and fuel efficient Oversee the condition of vehicle equipment, loading and unloading of goods and ensuring the safe delivery of cargo Ensure that all documentation and permits are in order when driving US routes Ensure the accurate recording of cargo information, distance logs, fuel consumption and expenses into log books Ensure that any damaged products are reported and documented properly Communicate with company dispatcher and other company drivers May be required to drive as a part of a two-person team If necessary, perform emergency roadside repairs Job Requirements: Completion of Secondary school is required Must have Class 1 from BC or equivalent Driver’s License from anywhere with air brake endorsement or should be able to acquire one Must be able to communicate in basic English No work experience required, we have trainers available, on the job training will be provided. Location: Abbotsford, BC

Salary: 21.00/Hour for 30-40 hours per week

Job Description:

Active Heat is looking for helpers responsible for assisting a senior mechanic with basic HVAC systems installation, repair, and maintenance. They perform the more routine tasks on HVAC systems, taking direction from and under the supervision of the senior mechanic.

Job Duties:

Assist in servicing products and equipment on assigned projects and ensure customer satisfaction
Follow all relevant safety codes and guidelines while assisting with the installation and servicing of equipment
Take instructions from the senior to complete projects
Deliver parts to job sites and ensure that all necessary tools are on-site and readily available during the project
Keep parts and materials organized and transport tools and materials to the Mechanic as needed
Assist with cleaning and preparing the workspace for the Heating and Cooling Mechanic
Measure, cut, and bend wire and conduit using measuring instruments and hand tools
Identify, analyze, and repair equipment, instruments, and products at a customer’s location
Job Requirements:

Education: None
Language: Must be able to communicate in basic English
Experience: Some previous work-related skill, knowledge, or experience is usually needed
Other requirements:

Installation of furnaces, heat pumps, duct work
Desire for continuous learning and improvement
Basic knowledge of and ability to use hand tools
Customer service skills
Understands and respects his role as an assistant to the supervising mechanic and follows directions and instructions accordingly.
