General Farm Worker – Harvesting (NOC 85101)

Major job responsibilities

·       Divide fresh-harvested produce into marketable lots and non-marketable lots

·       Hand harvesting vegetables

·       Tie and secure plants

·       Pot and re-pot plants

·       Mix and prepare soils

·       Plant, cultivate, and irrigate crops

·       Weeding

·       Sort fruits and vegetables

·       Grade vegetables and fruits into different grades according to the size, shape, colour, and volume to fetch a high price in the market.

·       Examine the farm produce for quality and its readiness for the market

·       Clean work area

Benefits

  • Overtime Pay (1.5 times of hourly wage after 40 hours of working in a week and or after 8 hours in a given day).
  • Vacation pay as per Saskatchewan Standards (3 weeks or 5.77% of vacation pay)
