Responsibilities

Tasks

  • Interpret welding process specifications
  • Operate manual or semi-automatic, fully automated welding equipment
  • Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings specifications, manuals and processes
  • Examine welds and ensure that they meet standards and/or specifications
  • Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment
  • Operate brakes, shears and other metal shaping, straightening and bending machines
  • Fit, braze and torch-straighten metal
  • Operate oxygen arc cutting equipment (arc-air), (AOC)
  • Determine weldability of materials
  • Operate hoisting and lifting equipment
  • Operate previously set-up welding machines to fabricate or repair metal parts and products
  • Operate previously set-up brazing or soldering machines to bond metal or to fill holes, indentations and seams of metal
  • Start up, shut down, adjust and monitor robotic welding production line
  • Maintain and perform minor repairs on welding, brazing and soldering equipment

Job title: Construction Painter Helper

No. of vacancies: 6

Start Date: As soon as possible

Job Type: Full time, permanent position with 30-40 hours per week. Overtime at the rate of 1.5 times after 40 hours per week.

Wage: $23 per hour

 

Benefits: 4% vacation pay. Extended Medical Coverage for of up to 80% after completing 90 days with the company

JOB DUTIES

Clean up work areas before and after jobs 

Cover surfaces with cloth or plastic to ensure protection

Scrape, sandpaper, prime or seal surfaces prior to painting

Hand over tools as needed to painters

Use sanding and buffing tools to smooth surfaces

Fill cracks, holes, and joints with caulk, putty, plaster, or other fillers, using caulking guns or putty knives

Help Painters to mix paints, using right proportion and color

May apply paint to surfaces including canvas, walls, floors, doors, and cabinets under Painter supervision

 

Working setting: The candidate should be available to work full-time in the day or on weekends, if required.

 

Working Conditions: Candidate should be able to lift weight (20lbs). Should be willing to work outdoors, indoors, at height and all weather conditions.
