Truck Driver

RDA Roof Vacuum Experts Inc. has been servicing the commercial and industrial roofing sector with a team of experienced professionals skilled in various types of roofing systems.

RDA is located at 151 Norfinch Unit 3, Toronto, Ontario M3N 1Y2 and is seeking to hire 2 experienced truck drivers for permanent full-time employment within the Greater Toronto Area and surrounding areas.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a truck driver
  • Must have valid driver’s license
  • Must have clean driving record (Driver's validity license check, Driving record check – abstract) and Medical Exam
  • Must have AZ class license, Air Brake (Z) Endorsement
  • Must have experience driving a roll-off truck
  • Must have sound knowledge of road safety regulations
  • Must have knowledge of Accident or incident reports, Driver logbook, Inspection report (pre-trip, enroute, post-trip), Maintenance and repair reports, Trip reports
  • Operate GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment, Trip recorder (on-board computer)
  • Work Conditions:  Fast-paced environment, Physically demanding
  • Weight handling – up to 45 kg (100 lbs)

Duties

  • Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials
  • Short-haul, local transport
  • Follow routes and time schedule
  • Load and unload goods
  • properly secure goods to ensure that they are not damaged in transit
  • Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes and other equipment
  • Perform pre-trip, enroute and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle
  • Receive and relay information to central dispatch
  • Perform emergency roadside repairs
  • Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption
  • Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo
  • At the project site, ensure the truck is driven / parked in a manner that does not damage the customer’s property
  • Complete logs and reports including Accident or incident reports, Driver logbook, Inspection report (pre-trip, enroute, post-trip), Maintenance and repair reports, Trip reports
  • Notifying management of any accidents, parking tickets, vehicle damage, and major maintenance issues
  • Ensuring that the company truck is clean and well-maintained at all times
  • Address customers' complaints or concerns
  • Instruct colleagues on new methods or work techniques
  • Must adhere to road safety laws and regulations at all times

 Wages & Work Hours:

  • $30.00 – hourly  for 37.5 hours per week.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Training Officer will be responsible for staff training within an organization. The Training Officer will identify the training needs of staff and develop and organize programs to meet those needs with special emphasis on asbestos, hazard materials and occupational health and safety.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Teach employees using a systematic plan of lectures, demonstrations, discussion groups, laboratory work, shop sessions, seminars, case studies, field assignments and independent or group projects all hazard materials in the construction industry as well as occupational health and safety with emphasis in asbestos.
Develop curriculum and prepare teaching materials and outlines for courses.
Advise students on program curricula.
Provide individualized tutorial or remedial instruction to employees who require it.
Supervise independent or group projects, and hands-on training.
Follow government policies and standards.
Develop and implement applicable procedures to meet government requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS REQUIRED:

Education: Completion of High School, some college/CEGEP/vocational or technical training.
Experience: 1 year of work experience as an instructor.
Languages: Speak English, Read English, Write English
