Responsibilities:

Establish and implement policies and procedures

Assign, co-ordinate and review projects and programs

Record and prepare minutes of meetings, seminars and conferences

Determine and establish office procedures and routines

Schedule and confirm appointments

Manage contracts

Answer telephone and relay telephone calls and messages

Answer electronic enquiries

Compile data, statistics and other information

Oversee the preparation of reports

Order office supplies and maintain inventory

Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate daily operations

Greet people and direct them to contacts or service areas

Open and distribute regular and electronic incoming mail and other material and co-ordinate the flow of information

Type and proofread correspondence, forms and other documents

Computer and technology knowledge: Google Docs, MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS PowerPoint, MS Windows, MS Word, MS Office

Area of specialization: Reports and records, Contracts, Statistics, Charts, tables, graphs and diagrams

Transportation/travel information:  Willing to travel, Travel expenses paid by employer, Public transportation is available

Job responsibilities

  • Mix, pour and spread materials
  • Assist in framing houses, erecting walls and building roofs
  • Pave and rake asphalt
  • Remove rubble and other debris at construction sites
  • Direct traffic at or near construction sites
  • operate various power and hand tools, drills, and skid loaders
  • clean and prepare construction sites, including setting up scaffolding, removing and disposing of debris, and digging trenches
  • shovel materials to and from job site, including dirt and asphalt
  • follow safety procedures and report violations to management
  • maintain a clean and safe site by handling and storing materials, picking up and removing tools and equipment, and securing job site
  • loading and unloading construction materials and moving to work area

Job skills and qualifications

  • one or more year's experience in residential construction
  • ability to lift heavy equipment
  • ability to travel during the week or weekend
  • excellent stamina
  • to do well in this role you should be physically fit, reliable and be a hard worker with 1 year home construction/renovation experience
  • have a valid Canadian work permit
