Job Duties:

  • Negotiate with suppliers for the purchase of goods, materials, and services, ensuring cost-effectiveness and compliance with company policies.
  • Prepare and review purchase agreements, contracts, and procurement documentation.
  • Monitor and analyze market conditions, including commodity pricing, supplier financing trends, and currency fluctuations, to inform procurement strategies.
  • Assess supplier financial stability and evaluate economic risks that may impact long-term purchasing agreements.
  • Conduct research on potential suppliers, evaluate proposals, and recommend the most suitable vendors.
  • Forecast supply and demand requirements based on market dynamics and business needs.
  • Stay informed on industry and financial market trends that may influence procurement planning and supplier relationships.
  • Maintain accurate purchasing records, monitor inventory levels, and ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to align procurement activities with organizational goals and budgets.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, trade agreements, and organizational procurement policies.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Completion of a college diploma or university degree in business administration, commerce, supply chain management, or a related field.
  • Coursework or demonstrated knowledge in market analysis, economics, or finance is considered an asset, particularly in monitoring commodity pricing, currency fluctuations, and supplier financial stability.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain operations.
  • Experience with contract negotiation, supplier management, and market research required.

 

Skills and Requirements

  • Proficiency with procurement software, and spreadsheets, and ERP systems.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy in procurement documentation.
  • Strong ability to monitor and analyze market conditions, including commodity pricing, supplier financing trends, and currency fluctuations, to support procurement strategies.
  • Proficiency in contract negotiation, supplier management, and cost analysis.
  • Ability to interpret industry and financial market trends that influence procurement planning and supplier relationships.

Tasks

  • Establish methods to meet work schedules
  • Supervise and co-ordinate activities of staff who prepare and portion food
  • Train staff in job duties, sanitation and safety procedures
  • Estimate ingredient and supplies required for meal preparation
  • Ensure that food and service meet quality control standards
  • Maintain records of stock, repairs, sales and wastage
