Sous Chef (62200)

We have an opening for Sous Chef (62200) at our “Nodo Liberty” restaurant (2861098 Ontario Inc.) located at 120 Lynn Williams St Toronto, Ontario M6K 3N6. A fast-paced environment for a team-oriented person. Responsibilities will include preparing food for the restaurant and take out while following all food safety guidelines and product standards.

Job requirements
Languages: English

Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
or equivalent experience
Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years

Cuisine: Italian

Job Duties:

  • Demonstrate new cooking techniques and new equipment to cooking staff
  • Supervise activities of specialist chefs, chefs, cooks and other kitchen workers
  • Prepare and cook food on a regular basis, or for special guests or functions
  • Arrange for equipment purchases and repairs
  • Consult with clients regarding weddings, banquets and specialty functions
  • Plan and direct food preparation and cooking activities of several restaurants
  • Plan menus and ensure food meets quality standards
  • Recruit and hire staff
  • Supervise activities of sous-chefs, specialist chefs, chefs and cooks
  • Estimate amount and costs of supplies and food items
  • Instruct cooks in preparation, cooking, garnishing and presentation of food
  • Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food

Supervision: 3-4 People
