Truck Mechanic

Main duties

·     Perform regular maintenance and repairs on trucks & trailers, ensuring they meet safety and operational standards.

·     Utilize mechanical knowledge to diagnose issues with truck & trailer systems, including brakes, electrical components, and suspension systems.

·     Operate heavy equipment as necessary for repairs and maintenance tasks.

·     Use power tools effectively to complete repairs, modifications, or installations on trucks & trailers.

·     Weld components as needed to ensure structural integrity and safety of trucks & trailers.

·     Maintain a clean and organized work area, always adhering to safety protocols.

·     Communicate with drivers regarding repair needs and provide exceptional service throughout the repair process.

·     Assist in heavy lifting tasks as required during maintenance and repair operations.

·     changing tires on trucks and trailers.

Education and experience

  • Secondary School-12 Grade
  • 1-2 years of Industry experience as a mechanic or in a similar role, particularly with trucks & trailers or heavy equipment.
  • Basic welding skills are preferred but not mandatory.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting and operate heavy equipment safely.
  • A commitment to maintaining high standards of safety in the workplace.

Salary

$34.50 /hr

Benefits

  • Overtime Pay (1.5 times of hourly wage after 40 hours of working in a week)
  • Vacation Pay as per Saskatchewan Standards (3 weeks or 5.77% of vacation pay)
