Job location: Main Street at Chisholm Park, Antigonish, Nova Scotia, B2G 2C6
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare multiple orders simultaneously during peak periods with high accuracy rate, maximizing customer satisfaction.
- Cook food items by grilling, frying, sauteing and other cooking methods to specified recipes and standards.
- Set up and prepare cooking supplies and workstations during opening and closing to maximize productivity.
- Maintain cleanliness and comply with food sanitation requirements by properly handling food and ensuring correct storage.
- Coordinate cooking activities with team members.
- Ensure all stocks are kept under optimum conditions.
- Adhere to Health & Safety policies and regulations.
- Coach and train new kitchen helpers
Key Competencies:
- Relevant work experience is an asset.
- Excellent knowledge of various ingredients.
- Capable of delegating multiple tasks.
- Efficient organizational and time-management skills.
- Understanding food safety practices.
- Interpersonal skills and team-building skills.
- Completion of the Food Safety course, Safe Food Handling course or equivalent is desired.
- Able to communicate in basic English.
Work hours:
- 35 to 40 hours a week
Salary & benefits:
- $16.00 per hour
- 5 days paid personal / sick leave.
- Meals provided while on shifts.
