Responsibilities

Tasks

  • Prepare production and other reports
  • Recommend measures to improve productivity
  • Resolve work problems, provide technical advice and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality
  • Supervise workers and projects
  • Co-ordinate and schedule activities
  • Recruit and hire workers and carry out related staffing actions
  • Train or arrange for training
  • Prepare bids
  • Estimate costs and materials
  • Operate CADD and other computer software systems
  • Ensure health and safety regulations are followed
  • Recommend personnel actions
  • Requisition or order materials, equipment and supplies
  • Establish methods to meet work schedules and co-ordinate work activities with other work units

Supervision

  • 3-4 people
  • Automotive technicians/motor vehicle mechanics

Construction Manager (Bridges)

Surespan Structures Ltd, located at 3721 Drinkwater Road, Duncan

BC, V9L6P2 has a permanent and fulltime job for a Construction Manager (Bridges) position.

 

Duties

 

• Travel to various project sites in Canada (excluding  NWT and Nunavut)

• Spend weeks away on different bridge building construction sites in remote

areas of British Columbia or other areas

• Must be capable of taking ownership and leading bridge building construction

crews including foreman.

• This position requires management of all bridge building construction

from tender project inception to completion.

• Assisting in the selection of field site personnel.

• Planning and implementing construction mean/methods,

schedules, productivity innovations, site logistics.

      Monitoring cost control and job costing, quantity reporting, forecasting, productivity.

      On-site co-ordination of manpower, materials and equipment.

      Developing, monitoring and executing the project construction plan and schedule.

      Supervising, mentoring, coaching and training field personnel.

      Project close-out, responsible for final inspections, deficiencies, warranty work and site demobilization.

      Prepare and submit construction project budget estimating.

      Develop and implement quality control programs.

·      Implement and maintain safety work procedures on site

·      Prepare progress reports and issue progress schedules to Operations Manager and CEO

clients.

 

Abilities

·      Be able to perform the duties listed above

·      Have exceptional communication skills, written and verbal, as well as organizational and interpersonal skills.

 

 

Requirements

·      Project Superintendents with bridgebuilding experience

 

Compensation

·      $110 000- $140 000 per annum

·      Live out allowance

·      Medical and dental benefits

·      LOA of CAD 65 per day when accommodation is provided and CAD 145 when accommodation is not provided
