Salary:

Permanent Full-Time $34.06 per Hour based on a per annum Salary and 40 hour work week

POSITION:

Experience Level: Intermediate Position

MEP Design Inc. provides site planning and landscape architectural services to a broad range of clients from Private Sector Developers to Public Sector Municipalities.  We are currently involved with municipal design and planning projects, residential and commercial developments.  We are a medium sized firm that works closely as a team in an open-concept studio environment.  We are located in North York close to public transit.  Specific daily tasks include, but not limited to:

 

Roles and Responsibilities 

·        Technical Drawings: Prepare detailed construction drawings, including site plans, grading plans, planting plans, irrigation plans, and construction details to be developed for municipal approval i.e. Rezoning Application, Site Plan Approval, Streetscape Permit Application, etc…

·        CAD Proficiency: Utilize industry-standard software (AutoCAD, SketchUp, etc.) to create accurate and visually appealing designs.

·        Building Codes and Regulations: Ensure compliance with building codes, zoning bylaws, and other relevant regulations.

·        Construction Documentation: Prepare comprehensive construction documents, including specifications and schedules.

·        Plant Selection: Select appropriate plant materials, considering factors such as hardiness, maintenance requirements, and aesthetic appeal.

·        Project Coordination: Oversee the entire project lifecycle, from initial concept to final construction.

·        Client Communication: Maintain effective communication with clients, architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders.

·        Budgeting: Prepare Quantity take-offs and Cost Estimates.

·        Contract Administration: Review and administer contracts with subcontractors and suppliers.

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

·        Undergraduate Degree in Landscape Architecture, Architecture or Design-Related Program

·        College Certificate from an Ontario Accredited Institution in Project Management

·        Minimum 6 months of Co-Op Experience in a Toronto/GTA Based Design Firm

 

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

·        Minimum 2 Years Continuous Work Experience in a Toronto/GTA Based Landscape Architectural Firm

 

REQUIRED SKILLS:

·        Must have experience with the preparation of CAD Design Development Drawings and Construction Documents on Ontario-Based Project Work

·        strong organizational skills

·        must be self-motivated

·        possess good verbal and written communication abilities

·        must have a strong design sensibility and embrace innovative thinking.

 

REQUIRED SOFTWARE PROFICIENCIES:

·        CAD Drafting (AutoCAD)

·        Microsoft Word and Excel

·        Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign

·        Sketchup

Responsibilities

Tasks

·       Wash windows, interior walls and ceilings

·       Make adjustments and minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing and electrical systems, and contact tradespersons for major repairs

·       Contact contractors for repairs and maintenance of the establishment

·       Perform minor repairs on appliances

·       Move heavy furniture, equipment and supplies

·       Perform other routine maintenance jobs such as painting and drywall repair
