Environmental Officer Responsibilities:
- Assess and review construction plans to ensure environmental considerations are integrated from the outset.
- Conduct environmental impact assessments/surveys to identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and company policies.
- Advise project managers and site supervisors on best practices for minimizing environmental impact.
- Perform regular site inspections to identify and address any environmental issues promptly. Collect samples and conduct continuous monitoring of air quality, emissions from machinery, waste disposal practices, and logistics processes.
- Collaborate with regulatory bodies and local authorities to ensure all necessary permits and approvals are obtained.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of implemented environmental controls and make recommendations for improvements.
- Document findings and ensure that any identified issues are addressed swiftly and in compliance with environmental regulations.
- Collaborate with site personnel to implement corrective actions and prevent future occurrences.
- Maintain detailed records of inspection results, sampling data, and corrective measures taken to ensure ongoing compliance and facilitate reporting requirements.
- Educate and train construction workers and subcontractors on environmental protection protocols and procedures.
- Document and report on environmental performance, incidents, and corrective actions to maintain transparency and accountability.
