Audio/Visual (A/V) Technician-1

ESA Communications Ltd. is a premier provider of high-quality public address, audio-visual, and intercom systems and services.

We are currently seeking an experienced Audio/Visual (A/V) Technician to join our team and provide daily support at Toronto Pearson International Airport. This role is ideal for a skilled professional with a passion for troubleshooting, maintaining, and optimizing public address and intercom systems while delivering exceptional customer service.

Type of job– full time permanent- 35 to 40 hrs per week, on-call work (every fourth week)

Salary- $32.43 per hour

Key Responsibilities

  • Route, maintain, and troubleshoot public address (P/A) and intercom systems.

  • Conduct SPL, impedance, and voltage testing on systems.

  • Interpret and work with technical drawings and specifications.

  • Provide daily onsite support with a focus on excellent customer service.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

To excel in this role, you will need:

  • Experience:2-3 years as an A/V technician, with proven expertise in troubleshooting A/V, public address, and intercom systems.

  • Technical Skills:

    • 2-3 years of experience conducting SPL, impedance, and voltage testing.

    • Proficiency in PLC programming, MATLAB, and analyzing analog and digital circuits.

    • Experience with microcontroller applications, PCB designing, and motors and transformers understanding.

    • Knowledge of using computers and applications like Microsoft Office.

    • Hands-on experience with soldering, schematic reading.

  • Education: Electronic Engineering Technician/Technology certificate (or equivalent); a college diploma in a related field may be acceptable.

  • Certifications: AVIXA CTS Certification is an asset.

  • Technical Aptitude:Ability to read and interpret technical drawings/specifications and proficiency with hand tools.

  • Communication:Excellent verbal and written communication skills in a professional setting.

  • Driver’s License:A valid Ontario driver’s license, vehicle insurance, a reliable vehicle, and a clean driving record.

  • Physical Requirements:Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. without restriction.

  • Availability:Willingness to participate in rotational on-call work (every fourth week).

  • Security Clearance:Ability to pass high-level airport security screening.
