Responsibilities

Tasks

  • Instruct apprentices
  • Troubleshoot and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions
  • Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required
  • Order parts and maintain inventory
  • Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts
  • Keep maintenance reports and documentation
  • Welding experience
  • Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturers’ specifications
  • Attach components and adjust new farm equipment
  • Clean, lubricate and perform other maintenance work
  • Perform repair work on heavy trucks
  • Service attachments and working tools
  • Verify and repair emission control systems
  • Perform other routine maintenance

Work Location: Candidates are required to work at various locations in the Lower Mainland, Greater Vancouver, and the Fraser Valley as per company contracts.

Job Duties:

           

  •          Align and straighten tile using levels, squares, and straightedges.
  •          Finish and dress the joints, then wipe excess grout from between the tiles using a damp sponge.
  •          Cut, surface, polish, and install marble and granite or install pre-cast terrazzo, granite, or marble units.
  • Apply mortar to the tile back, position the tile, and press or tap with the trowel handle to affix the tile to the base.
  •          Build underbeds and install anchor bolts, wires, and brackets.
  • Laying and setting tiles to create decorative wall, mural, and floor designs.
  • Cutting and fitting tiles around obstacles and openings using hand and power cutting tools.
  • Preparing, measuring, and marking surfaces to be covered.
  • Mixing, applying, and spreading cement, glue, or other adhesives using hand tools.
  • Aligning and straightening tiles using levels and squares.
  • Removing and replacing cracked or damaged tiles.
  • May prepare cost estimates and orders.

 Work setting: The candidate should be available to work full-time during the day, evening, or on weekends, if required.

Work Conditions: The Candidate should be willing to work outdoors, indoors, and in all weather conditions.
