Truck Driver (73300)

Main duties

  • Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials 
  • Tarping and ensuring the safety and security of cargo
  • Receive and relay information to central dispatch
  • Record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption
  • Perform pre-trip, enroute, and post-trip inspections and oversee all aspects of the vehicle
  • Oversee the condition of the vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment
  • Perform brake adjustments.
  • Perform emergency roadside repairs
  • Perform preventive maintenance.

Full-time-Permanent: 40-60 hours per week

Employment requirements

Education

  • Secondary school

Training

  • On-the-job training will be provided. You will complete an accredited driver training course of up to three months duration from a vocational school or community college

Driving License

  • A Class 1 or A license is required to drive long combination vehicles.
  • Air brake endorsement (Z)

Salary

$27.50/hr

Benefits

  • Overtime Pay (1.5 times of hourly wage after 40 hours of working in a week and or after 8 hours in a given day).
  • Vacation pay as per Saskatchewan Standards (3 weeks or 5.77% of vacation pay)

Responsibilities

Task

  • Develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children
  • Lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, taking children to local points of interest and providing opportunities to express creativity through the media of art, dramatic play, music and physical activity
  • Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security and well-being of children
  • Assess the abilities, interests and needs of children and discuss progress or problems with parents and other staff members
  • Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians, or supervisor
  • Guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing and toilet habits
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children
  • Plan and organize activities for school-age children in child-care programs before and after regular school hours
  • Supervise and coordinate activities of other early childhood educators and early childhood educator assistants.
