Responsibilities

Tasks
Prepare dough for pies, bread, rolls and sweet goods, batters for muffins, cookies and cakes and icings and frostings according to recipes or special customer orders
Requisition or order materials, equipment and supplies
Bake mixed dough and batters
Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food
Prepare special orders
Supervise baking personnel and kitchen staff
Draw up production schedules
Train staff
Ensure that the quality of products meets established standards
Schedule staff
Inspect kitchen and food service areas
Operate machinery
Hire and dismiss staff
Organize and maintain inventory
Oversee sales and merchandising of baked goods

1 X Industrial Refrigeration Mechanic

ICOM Refrigeration Corp operating as ICOM Mechanical Solutions has full time and permanent vacancy for 1 x Industrial Refrigeration Mechanic. 

 

ICOM Mechanical offers a variety of mechanical services including repair, service and installation of refrigeration, HVAC and mechanical building systems not excluding boilers and chillers (see www.icommechanical.com). ICOM Mechanical Solutions is located at 12209 Fort Road NW, Edmonton, AB, T5B 4H2. Work will be done within the province of Alberta.

 

Duties

 

·      Read, interpret, and construct systems based on blueprints.

·      Install refrigeration systems, including but not limited to compressors, evaporators, condensers and piping and set up control systems and automation.

·      Maintenance and service on CO2 and/or ammonia refrigeration equipment

·      Construction on CO2 and/or ammonia refrigeration equipment

·      Measure, cut and connect piping using welding and brazing equipment

·      Handling of refrigerants, recharging systems, checking and testing regulators and calibrate systems.

·      Routine maintenance, repairing, replacing parts or servicing all components and refrigeration systems.

·      Diagnose system malfunctions using gauges, meters, and computerized diagnostic tools.

·      Follow all safety protocols when handling refrigerants and high-pressure systems including refrigerants according to environmental laws.

·      Upgrade control systems to improve energy efficiency.

·      Interact with customers and prepare paperwork for the jobs.

 

Education

 

·      Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic Trades Certificate from any jurisdiction OR Journeyman Industrial Refrigeration Mechanic OR Eligibility to challenge the Refrigeration and Air Conditioning exam in Alberta

·      Ammonia Awareness Certificate

·      Ozone Layer Protection Awareness (HRAI) Certificate

·      Elevated Work Platform & Fall Protection Certification

·      SCBA Training Certificate 

·      First Aid Certificate 

 

Experience

 

·      Must have 10 years’ experience working with CO2 refrigerants including system installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting 

·      Must have 2 years’ experience working with ammonia-based refrigeration systems in an industrial environment 

 

Skills

·      Strong communication skills in reading, writing and speaking English

·      Overtime pay rate at 1.5 times regular hourly rate after 8 hours or 44 hours per week

·      Salary: $53.08 – $58.19

·      Monday to Friday, weekend work when necessary and on-call rotation schedule.

·      Work schedules may fluctuate based on operation needs

·      8 hours per day or 44 hours a week

·      Overtime of about 20 hours per week may be required paid after 8 hours a day or 44 hours a week depending on the category of work
