As an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic (Noc Code 72400), you will perform all or some of the following duties:

  • Assemble stationary industrial machinery
  • Detect and troubleshoot irregularities and malfunctions
  • Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements
  • Repair or replace defective machinery parts
  • Fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance or set-up
  • Installing machinery and equipment
  • Operate hoisting and lifting equipment
  • Clean, lubricate and perform other maintenance work

Work Site Environment: Noisy, Dusty

 

Education Requirements: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience

 

Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year

Terms of employment: Full Time / Permanent (30 to 35 hours / week), Paid Vacation

Employment Conditions: Night

Compensation: CAD $36.50/hour

Responsibilities

Tasks

  • Compute dimensions and tolerances of machine parts
  • Measure and lay out work pieces in preparation for assembly
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts and tables
  • Set up and adjust production machineries/tools
  • Fit and assemble components and machine parts to close tolerance
  • Maintain, repair and calibrate precision measuring instruments
  • Verify dimensions of parts machined using precise measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers)
  • Set up and operate conventional and computer-controlled machine tools
  • Verify dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments
