Position Overview: 

We are looking for a motivated Assistant Restaurant Manager  to support the Restaurant Manager in overseeing daily operations. The ideal candidate will help supervise the team, ensure excellent customer service, and assist in maintaining operational efficiency. This role is perfect for someone with leadership skills who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Education: Completion of a college program or specialized training related to hospitality or food and beverage service management is required. Equivalent work experience in the food service industry will also be considered.

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years in the food service sector, including experience in supervisory or management duties.

  • Language: Proficiency in English.

JOB DUTIES

  • Assist in Daily Operations: Support the Restaurant Manager in coordinating daily operations to ensure efficient and smooth service delivery.

  • Staff Supervision: Assist in training, supervising, and motivating staff to maintain high service standards and contribute to a positive work environment.

  • Performance Monitoring: Help monitor staff performance, provide guidance, and offer constructive feedback to improve team efficiency.

  • Staff Scheduling: Support in developing staff schedules to ensure sufficient coverage during peak hours and meet operational needs.

  • Inventory Support: Assist in tracking inventory, helping with stock management, and ensuring timely restocks while minimizing waste.

  • Health and Safety Compliance: Help ensure all health and safety protocols are followed, contributing to a safe environment for both customers and staff.

  • Customer Service: Assist in addressing customer concerns or complaints promptly, ensuring a positive and satisfying dining experience.

  • Quality Control: Work with the team to maintain consistent food quality and service, ensuring alignment with company standards and customer expectations.

  • Operational Assistance: Contribute to evaluating operational efficiency, assisting with budgeting, and suggesting improvements to help meet restaurant goals.

Automotive Mechanic (NOC72410)

Permanent Full Time

40hours per week

$28 per hour

We are currently seeking one journeyperson Automotive Mechanic to join the Kiff Auto team (https://kiffauto.com/) in performing all tasks required to diagnose, repair and service components of cars and light commercial transport trucks. Fourth- and fifth-year apprentice(s) will be considered. We are an “all makes” shop, however, our primary focus is diagnosis/repair/service to all European & Asian brands.   

 

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:                                                                                                                                                                                     

o   Confirm diagnostic findings with foreman to determine course of repair.

o   Discuss work options with foreman and/or service manager.

o   Review and act upon work orders.

o   Inspect and test mechanical units to locate faults and malfunctions.

o   Inspect engine/driveline/transmission/EV motor for proper operation.

o   Road test motor vehicles.

o   Test/diagnose automotive electrical systems and components.

o   Repair or replace mechanical units or components.

o   Test and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer’s specifications.

o   Perform scheduled maintenance service.

o   Test and adjust electrical and mechanical units to specifications.

o   Complete reports to record problems and work performed.

o   Always provide customer service as a top-of-mind priority.

 

EDUCATION:

     This position requires a high school education OR completion of a four-year automotive service technician program OR a combination of over five years of work experience and industry courses in automotive technology to be eligible for trade certification.

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, MEMBERSHIPS AND COURSES:

  • Automotive Service Technician Trade Certification. (Ontario 310-S equivalent)
  • Or, fourth- or fifth-year automotive service technician apprentice.
  • Driver’s licence, (Class G minimum) with a clean abstract.
  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System Certificate. (WHMIS)
  • Automotive Service Technician Inter-Provincial Red Seal Certificate. (preferrable)

 

Apprenticeship Training:

o   Fourth- or fifth-year apprentice in 310-S trade.
